Johnny stuck around to watch TV and go shopping with us. He would have stayed with us all day if Renee had not taught me how to say, "Okay, Johnny, it's time to go home now." He finally took off for the library's Kids Crafts Day when Joey assured him that he could come over for dinner tomorrow night.
I spent the next few minutes making cards for the two kid Crockatts' birthday party. I thought I was going to give them a movie, but DVDs are almost $30 each! Then I thought I was going to give them a board game, but a good one ranges from $40-70!! So I ended up giving money...lame, but certainly appreciated by the two 11-year-old kids.
The kids open their presents
Dave and Kim Crockatt, who have eight foster or adopted children at the moment. All of their children are lovely, one works with at the library, so I see him a lot, and another is a special leader in the Cadets program. My friend Eric stays over at the Crockatt's every few weeks because his mom works at the mine. One is a personable junior high kid from this community, so he uses his free time to hang out with his mom. The two having the birthday party are sweet kids that I met when their class came to the Heritage Society. I had a really great time at the party! I learned a lot while I was there and enjoyed spending time with the Crockatts, because they're all really nice people.
